CHINA,

The mission of General Wedemeyer

continuod to be

the chief topic particularly as Wedemeyer was visiting Canton in the course of the wook under review.. The pro-communist

Hwa Shiang Pao was hostilo in its attitudo to the visit, assorting that, the purpose of Wodomoyer's mission was to bolster up the Nanking Government, whorcas Russia had refrained from giving any assistance to either party in the Civil War.

The Sing Pao carried a Washington roport that as a result of a message from Wodemeyer American war supplies would bc sont to China in a months timo,
